AI Literacy and Integration in Socio-educational Contexts: The TEACH-AI Project

The paper reports the results of the project ‘TEACH-AI: Transformative Educational Approaches for Civic and Human-centred AI’, an action research project conducted by eCampus University that aims to explore and support the integration of generative Artificial Intelligence in Italian socio-educational and school contexts, adopting a participatory and human-centred approach. The research used the PAIR (Participatory AI for Inclusive Relationships) questionnaire to analyze the perceptions of socio-educational operators, focusing on three key dimensions: Capability (competence of use), Affordance-in-Practice (how it is applied in relation to the context) and Sentiment (emotional response to AI). The results of a cluster analysis on a sample of 414 practitioners from 19 social cooperatives in Italy identified four distinct profiles (Adaptives, Oppositionals, Indifferents, and Receptives), reflecting different attitudes and levels of engagement with AI, highlighting an emerging gap and the need for critical and reflective tra
