Abstract:
Moving from a conception of culture as a hybrid product of networks, instead of a pure object, the article addresses the problem of visibility in digital context of late modern ‘visual culture’. More specifically, the focus will be on moments of the communicative exchange occurring during the new and changeable process of visualization related to the possibility itself of understanding a text in the context of digital humanities. Who is the subject/object of the interaction? How can the ‘visual engagement’ be constructed —and conceived (i.e. the encounter with an adventure of visual life)? How are the practices of signification transformed in the process of dissemination? These and other questions will be answered through a critical reflection moving from the perspective of the ‘visual studies’.
