Abstract:
Some Remarks about the kommation of Aristophanes’ Clouds (Ar., Nu., 516) ·
After the edition of Aristophanes’ Clouds by G. Hermann, scholars have read ll. 515 f. of
Aristophanes’ Clouds as ia cho / 2ia. Ancient colometry and a fresh interpretation of prosody
suggest to consider the cola as 2cho hypercat / 2tr^. Trochaics fit with the pun involved in verb χρωτίζεται.
