Les limites du monologue intérieur chez Pierre Jean Jouve

Focused on the use of the inner monologue in Pierre Jean Jouve's novels, this article seeks to show that the gradual abandonment of this technique stems from an intuition of the inadequacy of monologue inadequacy as a mean of access to deep psychic contents. By replacing the inner monologue with an alternative model, based on verbal interaction and confession, Jouve's literary works reshape the relations between introspection and writing.
