Abstract:
This article examines the ambivalence of fiction in Adorable Clio. On the one hand, it is presented as a major theme and a privileged realm within metaphorical space: falsehood, theater, and disguise are systematically evoked to represent it. On the other hand, the generic indeterminacy of the texts, the absence of explicit representation of the conflict and a certain narrative distance indicate a rejection of fiction, which could denounce the mystifying rhetoric of war.
