Abstract:
The article examines a very important historical period in television fiction, namely the second Golden Age, during which serial storytelling underwent a profound renewal, especially in the United States.
Particular attention is paid to Quality tv, a concept developed and introduced in the television field in the United States during the 1980s, precisely the period in which the so-called second Golden Age of television was born. The aim of the article is essentially to analyze the industrial context, narrative genres, and productions from which contemporary “quality tv” originated.
