Study Program And Objectives
Objectives
The Master’s Degree Programme in Law is designed to educate legal professionals capable of interpreting and applying legal rules and provisions across the different areas of contemporary society, providing solutions to legal issues while considering their economic, social, and ethical implications. The Programme provides students with a strong foundation in legal disciplines, covering public and administrative law, criminal law, civil law, legal history and philosophy, law and economics, international law, and European law, while also fostering the development of an effective learning method. The specific educational objectives of the Programme are to:
provide students with knowledge and competences aimed at acquiring a basic national and European legal culture and at understanding the principles and institutions of positive law;
provide historical-legal and legal-philosophical knowledge enabling an adequate contextualisation of legal phenomena and an understanding of the institutions of positive law, also from the perspective of their historical evolution;
provide disciplinary knowledge and methodological tools necessary to identify, address, and solve legal issues, including complex ones, at national, European, and international levels, arising in contemporary society, with full awareness of their ethical, social, and economic implications;
develop the ability to research, interpret, analyse, and apply legal and judicial texts in concrete cases at national, European, and international levels, also taking into account doctrinal references considered in their different forms;
provide knowledge and methodological tools enabling students to understand and manage the major transformations characterising contemporary legal experience;
develop the ability to draft clear, relevant, and well-grounded legal texts (regulatory, contractual, procedural, and/or administrative);
develop the ability to continuously update their knowledge and competences;
develop the ability to apply acquired skills and knowledge to innovative topics in interdisciplinary fields, while formulating original ideas and solutions, also in research contexts;
enable students to use a European language other than Italian fluently, both orally and in writing, including specialised disciplinary terminology. The knowledge and skills acquired enable Law graduates to pursue legal professions and judicial careers, as well as to assume positions of high responsibility requiring advanced legal expertise within public institutions, European and international organisations, public administrations, companies, and social organisations. They may also work in the field of information technology law and emerging technologies, and in any professional context where interdisciplinary legal analysis, assessment, and decision-making skills are required. The Programme is offered entirely through distance learning and is organised as a five-year single-cycle degree programme. Students are provided with the opportunity to select elective activities from a broad range of options. The educational pathway is complemented by practical activities aimed at developing applied competences, activities for the acquisition of digital skills, and activities related to the final thesis.

Furthermore, these professions require graduates to have developed effective learning methods and the ability to analyse and interpret legal texts, formulate legal arguments, develop structured legal reasoning, and identify and properly apply legal sources.
- Legal Advisor in Companies and Public Administrations: The knowledge and competences required for this professional role are based on advanced legal training, with particular emphasis on public and administrative law, criminal law, civil law, legal history and philosophy, law and economics, international law, and European law. The competences acquired by Law graduates allow them to work in a wide range of professional sectors requiring advanced legal expertise across different areas of law, as well as interdisciplinary abilities to analyse, assess, and make decisions on legal matters.
