Study Program And Objectives
Objectives
The Bachelor's Degree Programme in Psychological Sciences and Techniques aims to ensure that students acquire:
a) A solid foundation in the core disciplines of psychology, including general psychology, neuropsychology, psychometrics, developmental psychology, social psychology, work and organisational psychology, dynamic psychology, and clinical psychology, within the framework of an interdisciplinary education that also encompasses the biological, neurophysiological, philosophical, educational, anthropological, and sociological dimensions of human behaviour. The programme also provides students with adequate knowledge of scientific research methodology in psychology.
b) Foundational technical, practical, and applied competencies, particularly in the professional fields of clinical psychology, work and organisational psychology, and developmental and educational psychology.
c) Adequate knowledge and skills in data analysis and communication, enabling students to present and discuss data effectively in both written and oral formats.
d) Knowledge and skills in the use of information technology (IT) tools relevant to the study and practice of psychology.
e) Proficiency in the English language, with particular emphasis on the terminology and discourse of scientific psychology. Finally, the Degree Programme aims to foster the development of critical thinking and independent judgement with regard to the various areas covered by the curriculum. It also seeks to provide students with adequate knowledge of information management and communication tools, as well as the ability to reflect on their own learning processes, thereby enabling them to pursue further study independently.
The Degree Programme is delivered predominantly through distance learning and, in accordance with current regulations, more than two-thirds of its educational activities are provided online. The curriculum is structured over three academic years and comprises 180 ECTS credits. It includes educational activities in the fields of psychology, neurophysiology, biology, education, philosophy, and anthropology. The programme is completed by a 10-ECTS Practical Assessment Internship (Tirocinio Pratico Valutativo - TPV), conducted in person and designed to develop students' ability to apply their knowledge in professional settings, as well as a final examination. The Degree Programme in Psychological Sciences and Techniques is therefore designed to provide students with the knowledge that characterises the various fields of psychology, together with the related human and biological sciences. This knowledge prepares graduates both for admission to a Master's Degree in Psychology, which is required to qualify for the profession of Psychologist, and for the acquisition of a sound command of the conceptual, methodological, and technical tools used in psychological assessment and intervention.
