The conceptual framework within which the planning and intervention work in the field of Community Technologies is inserted is based on three key words: society, innovation and community. The crisis of the concept of authority leads us to question the meaning of a horizontal society: is it a more adult society? More responsible? But is it possible to speak of a radical horizontality? Within this model of society, digital capitalism risks using horizontality to impose the logic of consumption. The company just described finds its own figure in innovation. We reflect on the meaning of the construct, distinguish it from that of change, investigate its value as a salvific utopia. Innovation is mainly focused on technology in the third phase of technological mediation characterized by two main phenomena: the emergence of artificial life (bioalgorithms, artificial intelligence) and the dictatorship of Big Data. Can there still be room for the community in this society? Are bonds forever liquid or is there room for them to survive?
