Faculty Development in the online university setting: academic staff perceptions

Abstract
Publication Date:
2024
abstract:
Efforts to promote Faculty Development have grown in European academia, especially in online universities like eCampus, where both pedagogical and technological skills are essential. The eCampus Academy, launched in 2022, offers a structured training program with self-learning modules, workshops, and plenary sessions aimed at equipping new faculty with the skills needed for online teaching. A study involving 159 participants revealed high satisfaction with the program, highlighting the importance of face-to-face interactions in online settings. Future goals include expanding training offerings, fostering Communities of Practice, and enhancing monitoring through qualitative and quantitative tools.
