La rivoluzione verde e l’impatto sulle popolazioni indigene: la fine del giardino dell’Eden

Articolo
Data di Pubblicazione:
2011
Abstract:
The green revolution and its agricoltural politics, meant an increase in the food production at global level. Anyhow, they also created a new dependence of Southern countries among the Northern ones. Those politics improved the biological resources extinction and the deplection of natural areas, creating a deep devastation in the local habitat, such as in the Mesopotamian area. The indigenous population, namely the marsh arabs, Arab al-Ahwar, violently suffered the effects of these uncontrolled agricultural politics. This environmental problem also related to ethnic strife motivations, which have generated a progressive exodus from this area.
