Percezione dell'Intelligenza Artificiale Generativa tra gli studenti universitari italiani: un'analisi esplorativa su ChatGPT

Abstract
Data di Pubblicazione:
2025
Abstract:
Recent progress in the development of large language models (LLM) offer promising ways in the educational field to achieve different goals such as improving students' skills or supporting teaching activities. In this regard, the research focuses on analysing the perception of Italian university students with respect to their use of ChatGPT, a conversational system released by OpenAI in 2022. The source dataset is the result of a questionnaire designed and delivered by the University of Ljubljana to 23,000 university students in 109 countries. Starting with UNESCO's ‘AI Competence Framework for Students’ (2024), the analysis focuses on the responses of a subsample of 1,180 students, examining their understanding of how AI works, application in the academic context and creative use. The results show a direct correlation between AI literacy level and perceived effectiveness of ChatGPT as a learning tool. Moreover, students who perceive themselves as more creative in their use of ChatGPT tend to prefer online learning modes over traditional or blended learning ones .
