Study Program And Objectives
Objectives
The Degree Programme pursues the following specific educational objectives:
- to provide a solid multidisciplinary foundation in the historical-political, sociological, political science, economic, and legal disciplines, essential for understanding and analysing the public and private dynamics characterising modern societies, with particular reference to the processes of globalisation that have shaped the evolution of the contemporary international system since the Second World War, European political processes, the dynamics of institutional environments and public administration, as well as political-economic and business dynamics;
- to provide knowledge and competences aimed at developing the ability to analyse and understand economic and socio-political realities, also in light of historical dynamics, the international dimension, and political-institutional perspectives, as well as the relationships between political and social systems, economic systems, and institutional frameworks;
- to provide competences for the preparation of administrative documents and acts, and for the understanding and interpretation of legal documents and regulations, including those of the European Union;
- to develop knowledge and the ability to use methodologies and techniques for the collection, gathering, and analysis of information employed in political, social, and socio-political research, also in order to represent and interpret surrounding realities through analyses, reports, and market research;
- to provide linguistic competences in two European languages in addition to Italian. By deepening their knowledge of history, political science, law, economics, and social sciences, students acquire the methodological tools and knowledge required to understand contemporary social and political phenomena at national, European, and international levels. Graduates may either continue their studies in Master's Degree Programmes or first-level Master's programmes, or pursue a wide range of professional opportunities in the political and social sectors, public administration, international, intergovernmental and non-governmental organisations, and national or multinational private enterprises. The Degree Programme is offered exclusively through distance learning. The Degree Programme is structured over three years. It also includes elective courses chosen from a wide range of offerings, an activity worth 2 ECTS credits aimed at acquiring digital skills, and further activities designed to enhance the knowledge and competences required for entering the labour market. The programme concludes with a final examination for the award of the degree.
