Abstract:
Bioinformatics is a research field in which computer scientists, biologists, physicians, mathematicians, and chemists combine their expertise to collaborate on diverse tasks, from the discovery of new facts on complex biological systems to the rationalization of organization of health systems. As in many multidisciplinary approaches, the convergence of shared knowledge can be at the level of models and at the level of data and information. We present a set of available tools for biologic data management and algorithms for processing and knowledge extraction in biology-related problems.
