Abstract:
Migrants after their arrival in EU face, aside from public law and
administrative law, practical issues, matters of civil law such as permanent
settlement or residence, the attribution of status, family reunification rights
and other typical civil law institutes that are faced with legal arrangements
unknown in Private European law, this is the case of Kafalah and
polygamic families. The paper aims to analyse the above-mentioned issues
and look for the opportunity to find in the same civil law instruments
solutions able to remove obstacles in implementing EU policies on the
assimilation and integration of third-country citizens.
