Abstract:
The paper describes the experience of the Novarese midwifery school in the Nineteenth century, placing it in the broader national framework. This study is based on an interdisciplinary methodology, with specific attention to historical and educational topics and training and teaching features. Therefore, the long-lasting transition from traditional midwife to professional midwife, characterized by continuity and fractures, is well highlighted
