abstract:
The contemporary re-reading of Freire's works questions us as men and women who live the criticality of the current historical moment as perhaps the last chance to face the risks of the anthropocene and stimulate radical changes at a political, social and anthropological level. These instances of transformation are inherent in educational work and in particular in the teaching and research practices that belong to the role of the teacher, and Freire, in many of his speeches, reaffirms their importance by proposing an approach that is that of critical pedagogy and dialogue. Every dialogue requires the construction of a common ground of meanings in which to hold theory and practice together, and this contribution is intended to be this, an attempt to share a horizon of meaning in order to reinterpret teaching and research activities in the university sphere, starting with some generating words from Freire's vocabulary. The words we are going to investigate are read and interpreted in their original Portuguese form and their choice is absolutely arbitrary. They are in fact the fruit of our reflections on the operational contexts we have known and traversed over the last twenty years working in community projects as operators, trainers and teachers. The words that have emerged from these reflections are: práxis, conscientização, mediatizados (pelo mundo), diálogo, curiosidade epistemológica, sulear.
