PIGOZZO FRANCESCO

Associate professor in French Literature at eCampus University, he's been a Scuola Normale Superiore fellow in the Humanities and took his PhD at Pisa University under the supervision of literary theorist Francesco Orlando. His academic career goes parallel to the passionate search for knowledge interdependencies with other scientific fields in the social and natural sciences. He spent four years of research in the field of political philosophy at the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies. Epistemology and civic engagement are the underlying themes of his intellectual and practical journey (contribution?) as a living being.
He's a specialist of French Mémoires and published several contributions about the duke of Saint-Simon masterpiece, that is usually considered a key work for this entire writing tradition. His study of Saint-Simon's Mémoires helped him developing some theoretical and methodological issues concerning the link between literary analysis, French memorialist tradition and factual discourses. He is currently developing his main research topics through three different working programmes: a theoretical contribution to the definition of literary phenomena and the applicability of their related analytic tools in the field of reality-congruent discourses; an historical and literary study of the link between autobiographical writings, institutional power issues and the fight for a supranational, multiscale institutional order in a European and world context where France and French culture still play a relevant role; practical contribution to the pedagogical debate, policy guidelines and educational activities linked to the need for Citizenship education. He is Director of the Research Centre on the "Education, la culture et l'action civique européenne à plusieurs échelles".
